App Design

Khorus is an original app concept created as a group project, focused on building something useful for people. I worked on the UX planning and writing, while other team members handled the design, logo, and development.

App Description

Khorus for iOS makes it easy to stay connected with the local music scene. Discover upcoming shows and artists in your area, see what your friends are listening to, and read their reviews. Whether you're looking for a new band to follow or the next local gig, Khorus helps you stay in the know and share your love for live music. Write reviews, find hidden gems, and connect with others through your shared passion for music and local experiences.

Target Market

Primary

  • Ages 15-40
  • Wants to discover new music
  • Wants to diversify music taste but isn't sure where to start
  • Wants to be part of the local music scene
  • Would rather connect with community than using big streaming platforms

Secondary

  • Ages 20-50
  • Spent a few years as a music artist

Engagement Methods

  1. Social Element
    Encourage user opinion on music and reading other users reviews (allow user reviews about music, shows, bands, etc.)
  2. Self Expression
    Personalize the experience (set profile with name, pronouns, user bio, top albums, recently listened to (1 week/1 month/1 year/all time), favourite artists, shows they are going to). This encourages users to express themselves by showing others their own personal details about themselves and their music preferences.

    “Charts” Near You/Trending Albums/Songs Near You Notifications (new events/drops, suggested artists/albums)
  2. Calendar
    Able to lock in concerts you're going to, concerts suggested to you, albums/music being released, see what concerts your friends are going to
  3. Reviews
    See what your friends have reviewed, and a search feature to see reviews of specific albums/artists/songs
